Context This role will be associated with the Go Expansion Program in Toronto Missions/Main Duties Roles and responsibilities for Senior Project Manager - Conventional Rail Signaling : - Lead the end-to-end delivery of conventional rail signaling projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are achieved.- Manage multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.- Coordinate design, procurement, construction, and integration of conventional signaling systems with internal teams and external suppliers.- Oversee testing and commissioning strategies, including FAT, SAT, site testing, possession planning, and entry-into-service activities for signaling assets.- Act as the primary project interface, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and providing clear project reporting and governance.- Lead project planning, risk management, resource allocation, and change control to ensure successful project execution.- Ensure compliance with railway standards, safety regulations, contractual obligations, and quality requirements.- Support tendering, bid reviews, project start-up activities, and project change management by providing delivery, commercial, and technical input.- Drive issue resolution and decision-making across project interfaces, including civil, track, power, communications, construction management, and rail operations stakeholders.- Lead project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives, capturing lessons learned to enhance future signaling project delivery. Profile/Skills The successful candidate demonstrates strong technical judgment and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment. The role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong sense of accountability and the ability to manage priorities across complex engineering interfaces. The candidate should also demonstrate: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities. Ability to prepare clear, concise and well-structured technical documents. Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage technical interfaces effectively. Capacity to work with limited supervision and to adapt to evolving project environments. Strong problem-solving skills and practical approach to technical issue resolution. Ability to support delivery activities in office and site environments. The role requires practical and theoretical knowledge in several of the following areas: Systems engineering processes and lifecycle management. Requirements management and traceability. Interface management and multidisciplinary coordination. Railway systems integration and operational concepts. Conventional signaling principles. Testing, commissioning and operational readiness. Configuration management, change control and document control. Safety, quality and compliance processes applicable to transport systems. Knowledge of applicable railway, transit and engineering standards. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Railway Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required. Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is strongly preferred. Postgraduate studies in systems engineering, railway engineering, project management or a related field would be considered an asset.
