Job details
Project Director, Major Civil Program - Permanent - 4327 About the Opportunity The best projects are won by the people who go on to build them. A multi-billion-dollar civil program is coming to market in the Greater Toronto Area, and it will be delivered progressively. The team that wins it spends the first phase designing, estimating and scheduling alongside the owner, before a final price is set. Our client wants the Project Director who leads that pursuit to be the one who delivers it. They are a national contractor with more than five decades of heavy civil work behind them, already a partner on some of the largest transit, bridge and energy programs in the country, with an Ontario business growing on the strength of that record. Big enough to pursue work at this scale; close-knit enough that the person leading it is known by name at the top. You lead the pursuit from qualification and scored interviews through the development phase, then take the program into construction as its Project Director. You build and run the team, work with the owner and partners to settle design and price, and own safety, quality, cost and schedule from first shovel to handover. About You You have led major civil work where the commercial outcome rested with you, and you are at your best when you can shape a project from the front end. The successful candidate will have the following: A career in heavy civil construction, including public realm work with Ontario Infrastructure owners Experience on design-build, progressive or P3 delivery, ideally carrying a project from pursuit through to close-out You bring constructability, sequencing and risk thinking into design while it can still change, and hold your own with owners, designers and partners at the same table Joint venture experience, where trust and influence carry as much weight as authority A sound read on ground and geotechnical risk, and what it means for cost and schedule Ready to put your name to a program people will rely on for generations About the Job Continuity from bid to build: the strategy you set during pursuit is the one you deliver Real influence over design before the price is fixed Years of runway on the kind of program that defines a career A direct line to senior leadership, with decisions made close to the work The chance to assemble and develop the team that carries the program, as the Ontario business grows around it GTA-based, with competitive compensation, benefits and deliberate development How to Apply Please apply by completing the application form below and submitting your résumé.
