Position Description As Sr. Project Lead – Impacted Sites, you will lead a small group of technical staff delivering phased environmental site assessments and remediation projects, primarily in Saskatchewan. Typical projects are valued between $5,000 and $100,000, and you can expect to manage five or more at a time. You will combine hands-on technical leadership with project management, overseeing team and project budgets, mentoring junior and intermediate staff, contributing to hiring and team-building decisions, and supporting client relationships. You will be a key contributor in winning and delivering work, including Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments, Corrective Action Plans, and Closure/Status Reports at contaminated sites, in accordance with the Saskatchewan Environmental Code and applicable CSA standards. You will communicate with clients ranging from technical staff to corporate directors and C-suite executives. Depending on your background and interests, there is also an opportunity to support projects from our civil and geotechnical engineering portfolio. Key Responsibilities Lead Projects Manage and coordinate environmental field investigations and monitoring events, including oversight of subcontractors Monitor and control project budgets, financial tracking, and schedules Apply environmental regulatory requirements and act as a liaison with clients and regulators Deliver Quality Work Review, compile, and validate field and analytical data Develop technical reports and deliverables using standardized and project-specific templates Build the Team and Business Lead the ongoing development of your team by mentoring staff, supporting their professional development goals, and helping them grow their technical skills Contribute to technical and financial proposals and participate in client meetings and presentations Support development of corporate guidance documents, as requested by Senior Leadership Provide engineering support to other Omni-McCann service lines as project needs require Qualifications Required A college or university degree or diploma in a physical science, engineering, or environmental field Minimum five years’ experience in directly related areas of practice in western Canada, including investigation of soil and groundwater Working knowledge of the Saskatchewan Environmental Code and the CSA Standards for Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client and regulator interaction (you will be asked to demonstrate these during the interview process) Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Strongly Preferred Eligibility for professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., etc.) that meets Qualified Person requirements under the Saskatchewan Environmental Code, or eligibility within two years Contaminated sites assessment and remediation experience in Saskatchewan Considered an Asset Experience assessing soil vapour, landfill gas, and/or indoor air quality Experience in other consulting areas, such as geotechnical or civil engineering Experience in other Canadian jurisdictions Work Arrangement and Travel Location: Based in our Saskatoon office, working closely with our project delivery team. On-site to start: You will work on-site (in the office or at project sites) full-time for the first six months. This gives you time for training and to get to know the team and our ways of working. After that, hybrid arrangements may be considered, subject to approval. Travel: Expect regular travel to project sites throughout Saskatchewan, with occasional travel to Ontario and other western regions. Vehicle: Reliable private transportation is required. Travel reimbursement and per diems are provided in accordance with applicable legislation and company policy. Field conditions: Site visits may involve outdoor conditions, uneven terrain, and active construction environments. PPE is required, and you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently. Hours: Standard 40-hour week, with occasional extended or after-hours work when projects require it. Overtime is compensated in accordance with applicable legislation and company policy. Why Join Us?
