About

Our vision aptly describes how the Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services Board oversees both N’Mninoeyaa Aboriginal Health Access Centre and the Baawaating Family Health Team to deliver quality primary and therapeutic health care to all individuals in its member communities as well as the urban aboriginal population residing in the City of Sault Ste. Marie. Our health board consists of three (3) First Nations Chief & Council members who also serve as the Executive Committee for Mamaweswen, the North Shore Tribal Council. We provide services on an outreach and collaborative basis to eleven (11) First Nation communities and one (1) Indian Friendship Centre through our N’Mninoeyaa Health Access Centre. We also manage our own Family Health Clinic agency for our west end clients. Our First Nation communities include Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, Sagamok Anishnawbek, Serpent River First Nation, Mississauga First Nation, Thessalon First Nation, Garden River First Nation, Batchewana First Nation, Michipicoten First Nation, Chapleau Cree First Nation, Chapleau Ojibwe First Nation, and Brunswick House First Nation. Baawaating Family Health Clinic provides services primarily to our off Reserve population residing in Sault Ste. Marie as well as to non-Aboriginal local residents.
