Job summary
Part-Time Independent Contractor | Primarily Remote | Ottawa Preferred JCG is seeking a self-directed Senior Business Analyst / Project Coordinator to support a client engagement focused on assessing business systems, processes, controls, and governance requirements. This is primarily a business analysis role, with project coordination responsibilities supporting the work. The successful contractor must be comfortable independently planning and leading stakeholder interviews, organizing complex information, identifying gaps, and producing clear, client-ready documentation. Key Responsibilities Lead stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and working meetings. Document current-state systems, processes, requirements, risks, and dependencies. Develop systems inventories, capability matrices, process maps, and requirements documentation. Identify system overlap, process gaps, conflicting information, and outstanding questions. Maintain project schedules, action items, risks, issues, decisions, and follow-up activities. Synthesize findings and draft assessment reports, recommendations, and other client deliverables. Coordinate reviews, revisions, stakeholder validation, and approvals. Qualifications Minimum 6 years of relevant business analysis, consulting, systems assessment, or project delivery experience. Demonstrated ability to independently lead stakeholder interviews and discovery activities. Strong experience documenting business processes, systems, requirements, risks, and gaps. Excellent analytical, facilitation, written communication, and organizational skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with process-mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and escalate issues appropriately. Experience with software rationalization, Microsoft 365, data or information governance, cybersecurity, privacy, business continuity, or multi-organization assessments would be an asset. Working Arrangement Part-time, project-based independent contractor engagement Primarily remote, with flexible working hours Availability required for scheduled client and project meetings during Eastern Time business hours Candidates located in or near Ottawa are preferred, as occasional onsite meetings may be required Weekly hours may vary depending on the project stage and stakeholder schedule Interested candidates should provide a resume or LinkedIn profile, a brief summary of relevant experience, current availability, and expected hourly contract rate.
