Job summary
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional programs that bridge enterprise applications and oil and gas operations. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of IT/digital transformation and upstream, midstream, or downstream operations, requiring a leader who can translate operational needs into technology solutions and drive multi-workstream programs from business case through go-live and adoption. The ideal candidate brings deep program management discipline, hands-on experience with enterprise applications (ERP, EAM, SCADA-adjacent systems, or similar), and firsthand knowledge of oil and gas business processes and field realities. Work Location Edmonton/Calgary, Alberta - Hybrid 3 days work from Office Salary Range :CAD 102,000 to 120,000 yearly with medical/dental benefits and RRSP Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of large, multi-workstream programs spanning enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, EAM, production/operations systems) and oil and gas business functions. Partner with operations, engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to define program scope, objectives, success criteria, and governance structures. Develop and maintain integrated program plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans across multiple concurrent projects. Manage program risk, issues, dependencies, and change control; escalate and resolve blockers proactively. Act as the primary liaison between technical application teams and field/operations stakeholders, ensuring solutions align with real-world operational workflows. Oversee vendor and systems integrator relationships, including contract deliverables, SOWs, and performance against milestones. Drive organizational readiness, training, and change management to support successful adoption of new applications and processes. Report program status, risks, and financials to executive sponsors and steering committees; recommend course corrections as needed. Ensure programs comply with relevant safety, regulatory, environmental, and data governance requirements applicable to oil and gas operations. Mentor project managers and cross-functional leads; contribute to maturing PM/PMO standards, tools, and best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of program/project management experience, including at least 3+ years in the oil and gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream). Demonstrated experience managing enterprise application programs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Maximo, or similar ERP/EAM platforms). Strong understanding of oil and gas business processes, terminology, and field operations. Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar program budgets and large, cross-functional teams. Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and facilitation skills. Skilled in program governance frameworks, risk management, and change management methodologies. Proficiency with PM tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent, plus PPM/reporting tools. Ability to travel to field/site locations as needed and work effectively in a hybrid environment. Preferred Qualifications PMP, PgMP, or PMI-ACP certification. MBA or advanced degree in a related field. Experience with SCADA, production data systems, or field digitalization initiatives. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to oil and gas (e.g., environmental, safety, and reporting requirements). Experience leading Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery in a regulated industrial environment. Oil and gas domain exposure
