Senior Project Manager - Water/ Waste Water Construction

Hays Civil Construction are partnered with our client as they continue to grow to welcome on a Senior Project Manager – Water/ Waste Water Construction. Your new Company The business brings over 50 years of experience across Canada, as a leading design/ build General Contractor. Their Civil projects division is focused on Water/ waste water specifically, and they have become one of the leaders in this space for complex, large-scale design-build projects. Your new Role The Senior Project Manager is the designated representative to the Owner/Client. The morals, ethics and standards of the company and its employees are to be reflected. The Project Manager has overall responsibility for the project. This position is ultimately responsible for: ensuring that a profit is made on the project; that the work is performed as per the contract documents; that the project is completed with outstanding quality; and that the project is a safe workplace. The Senior Project Manager manages project teams and/or multiple projects and plays an active role in coaching and leading members of the project team. Developing successful relationships with clients, consultants, architects, subcontractors and other project stakeholders; Effectively managing the project with the skills, they have and following process and procedures ensuring each project is delivered with quality and consistency; Sharing your knowledge by mentoring junior Project Managers and Coordinators, guiding them to progress in their careers; Supporting the National Business Development team and assisting the Construction Manager in developing schedules for projects in the pursuit phase and approving final submissions as required; Involved in the negotiation of contracts with owners and their agents; Developing a construction budget and regular cost projection reviews; Preparing and updating a cost-effective plan and schedule for successful completion of the project; Compile and submit to Construction Manager initial project budgeting; Selecting suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations; Negotiating and clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers; Managing the submittals and approvals process; Reviewing shop drawings; Emphasizing site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our corporate Health and Safety Policy. What you'll need to Succeed To succeed as the Senior Project Manager, you will bring 10 or more years' experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry with a general contractor. Experience in water/wastewater, energy projects, and civil infrastructure construction. A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience. Professional Designation preferred — P. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall delivery, profitability, and safety of large-scale water and wastewater construction projects. This includes managing project teams, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Candidates must have 10+ years of project management experience with a general contractor, specifically in civil infrastructure or water/wastewater projects. A degree in Civil Engineering is required, and professional designations like P.Eng or Gold Seal are preferred.
