Environmental Project Manager Location: Toronto, Ottawa, or Barrie, ON Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time About the Opportunity Our client is a growing multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm specializing in geotechnical, materials, and environmental engineering services. They are seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join their expanding environmental team. This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional looking to advance their career while managing a diverse portfolio of environmental assessment, excess soil, and site investigation projects throughout Ontario. Working alongside experienced engineers and environmental specialists, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental consulting services from project planning through completion. What You'll Do As the Environmental Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing environmental projects while ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate environmental field programs, including scheduling drill rigs, excavators, technicians, laboratories, and subcontractors. Obtain permits, utility locates, and site access permissions. Prepare and support the development of environmental documentation, including: Soil Characterization Reports (SCR) Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAP) Excess Soil Destination Assessment Reports (ESDAR) Soil Management Plans (SMP) Supporting documentation required under applicable Ontario environmental regulations. Act as the primary liaison between field staff, engineers, laboratories, subcontractors, and clients. Monitor project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and overall project performance. Assist with proposal preparation, technical scopes of work, and cost estimates. Identify and communicate project risks related to scope, schedule, and budget. Coordinate report production by managing laboratory data, chain of custody documentation, and project timelines. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, health and safety requirements, and applicable provincial environmental regulations. Review soil and groundwater data and assist with technical report preparation. Manage project invoicing and monitor project financial performance. Travel to project sites throughout Ontario as required, including occasional overnight travel. Qualifications University degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred; Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation is considered an asset. Minimum 2-5+ years of environmental consulting or related experience. Eligible to obtain Federal Security Clearance. Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License. Access to a reliable personal vehicle with appropriate insurance. Willingness to travel periodically to project sites. Preferred Skills Strong understanding of Ontario environmental regulations, including O. Reg. 153/04 and O. Reg. 406/19. Excellent project coordination and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Strong technical writing and report preparation skills. Experience managing project budgets and client relationships. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); experience with environmental data management software is an asset. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
