Job Description We're looking for an Intermediate Environmental Planner / Project Manager to join our infrastructure team in Ottawa, Canada. In this role, you will manage environmental planning initiatives and infrastructure projects from conception through completion. You will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial environmental standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to sustainable infrastructure development. Develop and manage environmental planning strategies and project timelines for infrastructure initiatives Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare detailed technical reports and documentation Coordinate with federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and permitting requirements Analyze environmental data and utilize GIS tools to support planning decisions and project recommendations Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules while maintaining quality standards and project milestones Engage with stakeholders, including community members, government officials, and project teams, to gather input and communicate project progress Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery Prepare presentations and briefing materials for senior management and external stakeholders Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, scientists, and consultants to integrate environmental considerations into infrastructure design Monitor project performance against established metrics and adjust strategies as needed to optimize outcomes Qualifications 5 + years of professional experience in environmental planning, environmental assessment, or infrastructure project management Demonstrated expertise in environmental impact assessment methodologies and regulatory compliance Strong proficiency with project management software and tools Experience with GIS software and environmental modeling platforms Solid understanding of federal and provincial environmental regulations and permitting processes Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to synthesize complex environmental information Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and present findings to diverse audiences Experience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation Preferred: Experience with sustainability principles and green infrastructure initiatives Preferred: Background in team leadership or mentoring junior staff Preferred: Knowledge of infrastructure planning and design principles Why Join Us?
