In order to demonstrate our expertise in tunnels and underground works across the country, EBC is looking for new team members ready to take part in major projects throughout Canada. Under the supervision of Vice-President Majors projects – Tunnels & Underground works, the Project Manager plans, directs, organizes, coordinates and controls, along with the Project Director, the execution of his project. He will participate in prequalifications, bids and proposals of tunnelling projects. Responsibilities Manage and align team members assembled from internal and Joint Venture Partners Implementation of process compliance for internal and external requirements and commitments Establish Project objectives and implement tracking and accountability of such objectives Technical and commercial responsibility of the contract delivery Demonstrate strong leadership skills by clear and concise communication of priorities and tasks Empower and include key team members in the decision-making process to maximize the project success Foster a safety oriented high-performance culture Ensure consistency in expected safety performance on projects and verify the fair and consistent application of the progressive discipline system across all projects Ensure quality delivery of all contract obligations to meet client and internal expectations to excellence Maximize margins with safety in mind and ensure the company’s interests during the project lifecycle Manage, lead, and control projects from start to finish, including staff, subcontractors, and job management Develop, review, and collaborate on budgets, methodologies, submittals, and schedules Oversee the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) prevention program and ensure its implementation on the construction site Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of tender documents, drawings, specifications, addendums, and assist the Site Superintendent in achieving project success Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution Manage document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, NCRs, etc Assist in the preparation of final project records, including as-built documentation Assist in carrying out various basic field duties at the job site related to general construction Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent field experience Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience Claims & Change management experience Previous work experience in tunnelling projects and/or other high risk heavy civil engineering projects Knowledge of underground construction is of benefit Excellent proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam (asset) Available for extensive travel Desired Profile Leadership by example Fundamental knowledge of interdisciplinary management Ability to foster team spirit within a project team Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders Innovative and progressive mindset Improve process and maximize production efficiencies Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask Advanced skills in communication and problem-solving Exceptional skills in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving Benefits Competitive salary This role offers potential for advancement and promotion opportunities 5 weeks' of vacation per year (3 weeks during the year + 2 weeks during the Holidays) Flexible group insurance program available from the start Instant access to a virtual doctor (telemedicine) 24/7 Collective RRSP program with employer contribution to a DPSP Training and development program An active social club A friendly and stimulating work environment Large-scale projects Company built on values of respect, integrity, and quality work Recognized firm on the list of Canada’s Best Managed Companies
What you’ll do

Requirements
Candidates must have a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in tunnelling or high-risk heavy civil engineering projects and a willingness for extensive travel are required.
