Project Manager – IT Security Infrastructure Contract: 12 months and subject for extension Brampton – Hybrid Our long-standing client, a leader in its field, is looking for an experienced contractor - IT Project Manager to lead a portfolio of internal initiatives focused on the replacement, upgrade, and integration of enterprise security technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing complex technical projects within cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, or enterprise technology environments, and be comfortable collaborating with security engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and external vendors. This role will be contracting under Buchanan Technologies www.buchanan.com and will be assigned to work for our client. Key Qualifications: • 5+ years of project management experience, including at least 2–3 years leading cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, or enterprise technology projects • Experience managing vendor evaluations, RFP processes, and vendor relationships during technology implementations or migrations • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including security engineering, network operations, IT, and compliance groups • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication A PMP certification is required for this role. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the full lifecycle of security technology replacement and upgrade projects, including planning, execution, testing, cutover, and project closeout • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reporting • Coordinate migration and integration activities while minimizing operational and security impacts • Manage communications across technical teams, leadership, and third-party vendors • Track dependencies and risks across multiple concurrent security infrastructure initiatives • Ensure compliance, audit, and security requirements are incorporated throughout project delivery • Support change management activities, including training, documentation, and rollout communications Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and threat intelligence processes • Experience working within hybrid cloud and on-premises security environments • Knowledge of ITIL and formal change management practices • Experience with legacy system decommissioning and data migration projects Key Strengths: • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities effectively • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined in documentation and reporting
