About The Role Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager looking for your next challenge with a leading Main Contractor in the Northeast? We are seeking a dynamic, operationally strong Project Manager to lead the safe, timely, and commercially successful delivery of multi-disciplinary civil engineering schemes across the region. You will take full ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, managing site teams, direct labour, and specialist subcontractors while keeping a tight grip on programme schedules and NEC contracts. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery: Lead the day-to-day execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to technical specification. Commercial & Contract Management: Manage project budgets, compile status reports, and administer contracts (such as NEC4), working closely with the commercial team to maximise profitability. Health & Safety: Enforce rigorous SHEQ standards, write site-specific RAMS, and ensure compliance with all CDM regulations. Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, local authorities, design teams, and community stakeholders. Team Leadership: Mentor, manage, and motivate site engineers, foremen, and supply chain partners. What We Are Looking For Proven Main Contractor Experience: A solid track record acting as Project Manager for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor. Diverse Civils Background: Demonstrable experience managing a mix of infrastructure packages, specifically including: Highways & Earthworks: Bulk excavations, road profiles, and pavement construction. Structures: Bridges, retaining walls, or concrete slab installations. Flood Alleviation & Water Projects: Drainage, sustainable drainage systems (SUDs), flood risk management, or clean/wastewater infrastructure. ‍Qualifications Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. SMSTS, CSCS Black Card Deep understanding of NEC contract suites. Mobility A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across regional sites in the North East. Requirements

Applicants should have a proven track record as a Project Manager for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor and experience across highways, earthworks, structures, and water or flood-related projects. A degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, SMSTS, a CSCS Black Card, knowledge of NEC contracts, and a valid UK driving licence are required.
