This position acts as the liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure successful project outcomes. The PM drives project governance, manages risks, optimizes resources, and ensures delivery within scope, time, and budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities: IT Project Portfolio & Demand Management Partner with IT Leadership and business units to identify, evaluate, and prioritize project demands Participate in the intake and assessment process for new project requests, ensuring alignment with strategic goals Manage a portfolio of IT projects, balancing competing priorities and resource constraints Maintain visibility into the project roadmap and forecast team capacity across active and upcoming initiatives Project Planning & Execution Lead end-to-end project delivery for initiatives such as system implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation efforts Provide project management support for business-led initiatives outside of IT as requested, applying the same governance, planning, and delivery standards Develop project charters and secure stakeholder sign-off on objectives, scope, and success criteria prior to execution Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies Stakeholder Management & Communication Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders of all levels Facilitate regular status updates, steering committee meetings, and executive reporting Risk, Issue & Change Management Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies Manage and track issues, ensuring timely resolution Implement structured change management processes to control scope and maintain project integrity Escalate critical risks and issues to leadership as required Budget & Financial Management Work with leadership to develop, monitor, and forecast project budgets and costs. Assist with the preparation of business cases, ROI analyses, and funding requests. Help ensure projects are delivered within approved financial parameters. Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and delivery objectives. Vendor & Contract Management Maintain relationships with external vendors, consultants, and service providers Participate in RFP, RFQ, and Statement of Work (SOW) processes for project engagements Participate in contract negotiations, deliverables, and performance metrics Ensure vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs) and project expectations Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements or changes as needed Reporting & Performance Monitoring Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for projects Deliver accurate and timely reporting on project status, risks, financials, and outcomes Coordinate project closure activities, including handover and knowledge transfer Conduct post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement Contribute to the maturity of project management practices, templates, and tooling across the IT team and organization Must haves: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in IT project management, delivering medium- to large-scale projects Relevant certifications such as PMP, Agile/Scrum certifications, or ITIL are highly desirable Robust experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar) Proven experience in IT procurement, project coordination, vendor management, and IT Service Management practices A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Preference will be given to applicants located in Whitehorse, Yukon or those willing to relocate.
