Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the technical services department, reporting to the manager, SHEQ, Technical Services, you will support internal and vendor audit programs and SHEQ activities to ensure procedural compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring activities align with the Cameco Management System and integrated solutions framework (ISF). This will include supporting risk management activities within technical services and supporting the corrective action process, quality management activities and field leadership activities with a focus on internal process auditing. 

Responsibilities in each of the stated areas will require you to: 

  • Coordinate and facilitate bow-tie risk assessments
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a project risk management framework
  • Complete risk control observations and control validation
  • Complete investigations
  • Manage timely completion of corrective actions
  • Document development and revision
  • Manage safety significant materials effectively
  • Leverage the field leadership program and tools to provide high quality coaching and mentoring
  • Promote consistent layered audit practices to project delivery functions, and
  • Support vendor evaluations

Education and Qualifications

 Requirements of the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business or a quality systems related field
  • Five to eight of relevant work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Occasional travel to Cameco's various locations

Assets:

  • Experience in the nuclear industry
  • The American Society for Quality (ASQ) designation and qualification to function as a lead auditor
  • Knowledge and experience implementing or monitoring an ISO 9001 compliant management system
