The person selected for this position will join an Agile team working in squads. The workplace is located on the South Shore (St-Lambert) or in downtown Montreal.

The team develops and makes improvements to a transactional Java web application for call centre agents serving Desjardins members. The application integrates multiple technologies and components, including the caisse intranet portal, SOA services (REST or SOAP), Liferay, BPMS and Documentum components, and telephony services, among others.

As IT Architecture Designer, you help ensure IT efficiency by analyzing, designing and updating programming algorithms (computer software and web applications) and IT tool architecture (software, networks, databases, etc.). You ensure consistency with the organization's current and future needs and structure, while also ensuring that new components are compatible with the existing architecture (software applications, products, services, etc.).
You design detailed architecture, software and testing/implementation strategies for innovative, large-scale projects. You analyze, develop and recommend functional, organic and technology solutions and strategies. Therefore, in-depth knowledge of the technology and the ability to anticipate innovations as well as optimize work processes are key skills. You advise clients and practitioners on integration and coordination matters, and so the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a thorough understanding of needs is key. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work.

You are responsible for strategic projects involving a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. They require analysis and a comprehensive, detailed understanding of the business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with a large number of stakeholders from a variety of fields.

You serve as a specialist advisor and play a leadership role for decision-making bodies and your unit.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop complex execution strategies and analyze, design and document programs and applications. Actively help develop, code and test them
  • Coordinate project teams by analyzing components and providing technical support and follow-up for IT operations
  • Write procedures, guidelines and development methods. Prepare and deliver user training and related documentation
  • Identify system optimization opportunities and resulting impacts. Analyze, diagnose, follow up on and resolve highly complex system problems
  • Install and test software and roll out applications.
