Position title: Technical Specialist, Projects, Policies and Complex Accounting

Location: Montreal

Reports to: Senior Manager, Projects, Policies and Complex Accounting

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Projects, Policies and Complex Accounting, the Technical Specialist lead special and complex accounting projects and assist the Vice-President, Financial Reporting and Compliance in the determination, implementation and interpretation of accounting policies and new accounting standards.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the Senior Manager in the interpretation of US GAAP and IFRS as well as US Securities and Exchange Commissions Rules in the context of complex transactions and accounting matters;
  • Reviewing and/or assisting in the preparation of external financial information;
  • Supporting the locations for accounting and reporting issues and assisting in other special projects as they relate to financial reporting of complex accounting matters and/or transactions;
  • Perform ad hoc management and Department requests.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • You have a university degree in Accountancy;
  • You hold a CPA-CA certification as well as 4 to 7 years of relevant experience;
  • You have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • You have an ability to communicate in French and English, both oral and written, with clarity and ease
