Reporting to the Manager of Innovation and Projects, the Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for playing a central role in aligning the needs of business units with the corporate strategic direction and capabilities delivered by the Technology and Innovation Services (TIS) division. The Business Analyst (BA) is a bridge between the business units and the Technology Information Services (TIS) department in the support of project delivery and improving business operational efficiencies.
Duties for this progressive role include, but are not limited to:
Leading the development of business analysis plans that implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing, analyzing and refining user requirements and business processes
Eliciting user requirements, developing and refining requirements, building business process models, creating quality/test documentation used to support and drive the goals of the business analysis plan, project or TIS initiatives
Acting as a liaison between departments to proactively identify and bring strategic initiatives from concept to implementation ensuring service excellence
Supporting and providing leadership in delivering large corporate technology investment projects from an idea to solution acceptance and project closure.
Providing a strong technical background and familiarity with processes and services delivered by Information Technology departments within the public sector.
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical certification achieved in one or more of Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analyst (CCBA) or PMI Business Analyst Certification (PMI-BA)
PMP - Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management institute would be considered an asset
A minimum of seven (7) years of directly related experience with progressive responsibility,
Strong knowledge and the application of Business Analysis tools, techniques and methodologies throughout the lifecycle of a project or initiative.
Research and analytical skills to identify and determine the requirements and needs of internal and/or external clients as it relates to IT implementation projects
Excellent communication skills and an ability to provide advice and leadership to stakeholders as it relates to solutions and/or services delivered by TIS.
Ability to balance multiple corporate objectives, identify urgencies and importance of each initiative or project, assess the value of required task and maintain order as corporate demands evolve.
Excellent communication skills and ability to establish a strong raport and enhance working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated user training, presentation and facilitation skills
Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Expert level of computer proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Business Analysis and Project Management tools
Salary: $87,193 to $102,582 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus additional hours as required.
