The successful candidate is a seasoned Technical Lead with critical thinking skills who will be dedicated to lead the technical execution of data migration activities within the PATH program on behalf of the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team and report directly to the Director, Program Delivery. The PATH program is a multiyear initiative with the objective of delivering a new pension administration system to support the current schedules of pension benefits.  The Technical Lead is responsible for supporting the: execution of activities related to technical process reviews and engineering complex processes; preparation of technical documents which are more intricate and logistically challenging; and the resolution of complex systems and application issues.  Provides leadership to junior staff on the PATH program.  


  1. Provides business and technical expertise and leads process reviews and redesign for complex data processes:
  • Builds and designs Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) (including data quality), data models, process maps, and other related artifacts within the data domain.
  • Produces data conversion design and mapping/transformation documents.
  • Leverages EDS for data best practices and for technical processes.
  • Organizes and leads technical and system process reviews and prepares recommendation for PATH management.
  • Leads technical and systems design meetings with both Digital and business teams.
  • Uses their technical knowledge and development skills to influence the delivery of critical PATH items and communicate their completion to leadership. 
  • Employs effective strategies to proactively mitigate risks and facilitate resolution of problems and issues.

      2.  Delivers technical requirements for the PATH data migration program:

  • Develops the key data artifacts needed for a successful data migration (e.g., Data Source Mapping, Data Dictionary, Data Flow Diagram, Data Profiling).
  • Identifies and raises knowledge gaps to the data team.
  • Identifies key impacts in each data load and provides input to the internal and external program team
  • Develops conversion data mapping, data reconciliation and data cleansing routines based on EDS standards and methodologies.
  • Develops the technical risk and impact analysis for the PATH data migration program.
  • Delivers and leads meetings with multiple stakeholders and or multiple vendors for the purpose of gathering technical requirements and prepares documentation for related requirements.
  • Ability to influence and guide to ensure development of optimal solutions and obtain appropriate buy-in among the technical teams.
  • Reviews the technical specifications for the PATH data migration initiative to ensure it meets the requirements to deliver the end solution within the Digital team's parameters.


       3. Works with significant independence and minimal direction from management:

  • Functions as a Technical Team Lead and as first point of escalation for others on the data team. 
  • Provides coaching, training, mentoring, and direction to other project team members, as required. 


  • 5+ years of experience with data architecture, large-scale data modeling, and data requirements gathering/analysis.
  • Experience in the Pension industry working on complex data solutions, including member data and pension administration systems, is preferred (life insurance within a group retirement services perspective is also suitable).
  • Experience using data quality tools.
  • 5+ years of data governance experience, including data ownership/stewardship and data quality concepts, data profiling.
  • 5+ years of data migration experience.
  • Familiarity with metadata management and associated processes.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision, ability to conceptualize and think creatively, possessing critical thinking ability.
  • Excellent planning, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal, written, presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven track record as an effective team player and contributor, and participation in consultative processes.
  • Excellent client/user interaction skills to determine requirements.
  • Proven experience preparing technical documentation.
  • Experience in the Microsoft Data Management tool kit, including MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS.
