Project Manager, Canadian Accreditation – Bilingual Essential

Terms:               Contract, 2 year term with benefits

Accreditation Canada is seeking a Project Lead who shares our passion for achieving quality health services for all.  Serving more than 1100 organizations with over 7000 sites across Canada, we assess health and social services organizations against rigorously developed and internationally accredited health and social services standards to build capacity and continuously improve quality of health care for all.   

As our Project Lead, you will have the opportunity to manage the development and implementation of a program that increases access to safe health and social services, in the user's preferred or required language.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, is motivated by a challenge, and who loves to bring new and innovative ideas to the table. You're a natural leader, adept at leading and engaging both remote and in-person teams. You have a knack for prioritizing and juggling multiple projects. You are flexible and can adjust your course as needed.  We'll look to you to drive the project and motivate the project team, coordinating activities from project initiation through to delivery (project planning, implementation, evaluation, budget management, risk assessment, benefits realization). Finally, you have a strong command of both French and English, as communicating in both official languages is imperative.   

Let's break it down. Your responsibilities include:

  • Project Management: Engage with our enterprise-wide project team to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and ensure a high-quality project is delivered on time. Your project management and stakeholder engagement skills will be key to ensuring the successful design and implementation of the project.
  • Building rapport, both internally and externally. Engaging other comes naturally to you, and you have proven experience in supporting a healthy and innovative team environment that reflects our HSO leadership attributes of courage, humility, individual accountability and empowerment.
  • Creating: You will play a critical role in the development of project management plans and other project documents including documentation in both English and French.
  • Identifying and mitigating risk, and proposing innovative solutions when faced with project curveballs.
  • Ensuring all team members are supported with the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively.
  • Tracking and organizing, including project deliverables, outcomes, and project performance. We'll also look to you to provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Demonstrating big-picture thinking and vision, paired with the attention to detail that is needed to plan and execute. You're able to see the forest for the trees.
  • Pitching in! Helping out with other relevant, project-related duties when needed.

You have a unique history. Does it include the education and experience listed below?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or the equivalent in experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management, including use of project management software/tools. PMP designation preferred (but not required). We'll be looking for a solid understanding of project management methods, methodologies, frameworks, terminology, and processes.
  • Strong written communication skills including creation of project-related documents.
  • Fluently bilingual in both official languages; French and English.  
  • Understanding of and insight into the Canadian healthcare ecosystem.
  • A proven ability to work under pressure while juggling multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Detail-oriented. You've heard this before, but we can't stress it enough: the devil is in the details. You notice big and little mistakes, and are comfortable reviewing the work of your team and accepting the thorough review of your own work.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate the team and resolve conflict or misunderstandings head-on. You'll be interacting daily with our clients as well as teams across the organization.
  • Advanced organizational, time management, decision-making, and analytical skills to adeptly manage multiple project timelines.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to jump in when required to support outcomes in a variety of work areas, including the occasional ability to flex hours as required to meet project deliverables on time.

  • Are PMP certified.
  • Have experience working within healthcare – bonus points if you have knowledge of healthcare accreditation or certification!

  • Have developed lean workflows, and have the creativity to develop various forms of automation.
