Providence Village was conceived by the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul as a vehicle to extend their Mission into the future of the Kingston community. It is intended to be a community of people helping people. It honours the legacy of the Sisters and is a continuation of their Mission "to work toward a world where the vulnerable experience compassion, justice and peace." It is committed to meeting the needs of vulnerable populations with a focus on housing, health and social services. The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and evaluate construction projects initiated by Providence Village Inc. (PVI). This includes leading and coordinating the efforts of third-party contractors or consultants. The Project Manager will define the project's objectives in consultation with stakeholders and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle and, liaise with PVI partners that are implementing new construction or renovation projects within the Village. The Project Manager will maintain construction document records related to new PVI projects, and existing Providence Motherhouse and, renovation projects, as well as a space inventory of facilities owned and operated by PVI.
The ideal incumbent shall possess a Community College diploma required in architectural or engineering technology, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification will be considered an asset; Comprehensive knowledge of and applicable experience in building design, management, cost control and construction; Familiarity with the Ontario Building and Fire Codes; Familiarity with City of Kingston planning and building regulations and requirements for approval of projects and; Several years of Project Management experience, involving medium to large new and/or renovation building projects; Strong familiarity with building design and drawing software including AutoCad, and project management software, such as MS Project; Comprehensive experience working with user groups, design professionals and construction forces in a project implementation setting; Several years of experience working with executives, senior directors, managers and complex stakeholder groups.
Renumeration will depend on qualifications and experience.
