Why You?

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking self-starter who wants to make an impact on our organization and community. The Community First Associate will collaborate with key stakeholders and establish and promote high-quality opportunities that align with the five pillars of the Town's COVID-19 Community Needs Assessment (CNA): mental health, access to information, economic security, employment and community building.

With a 'community first' approach to planning, leading and evaluating the CNA strategy, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing an action plan aligned with the community-recommended actions in response to recovery from COVID-19
  • Leading community programming and educational sessions related to the 5 CNA pillars, including content development
  • Seeking partnerships with key stakeholders and across our 'One Town, One Team' to collaborate on shared outcomes
  • Ensuring offerings are equitable, accessible and in line with community needs, participant feedback, and target audiences
  • Integrating high-quality research evidence and trends into innovative solutions that meet community needs
  • Developing, measuring and reporting on performance metrics to identify the reach, effectiveness and efficiency of programs and outreach activities


The preferred candidate holds:

  • A post-secondary education in an area related to community and social services
  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience developing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating programming and project management.
  • Knowledge of poverty reduction initiatives, social determinants of health, and community building.
  • A valid Class "G" driver's license in good standing is required as is a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
