JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the planning, implementing, controlling, and reporting of status on multiple, concurrent projects for the company.  The PM will work closely with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and sales staff to accomplish the above. This position is responsible for $15 million annually in projects and can be working on approximately 5 projects at a time.

 

  • Responsible for leading all elements of multiple projects including planning, and implementation of the project, facilitating project scope, schedule, goals and deliverables;
  • Plan and review project schedules and timelines constantly to ensure milestones are on track, notifying various departments and Supervisor of deviations as appropriate;
  • Routinely provide direction and support to the individuals assigned to a particular project team, identify issues that impact cost or delivery status;
  • Reporting financial status of projects and in line with corporate directive
  • Schedule, coordinate and manage meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present reports defining project progress, percentage complete, problems, solutions;
  • Contact vendors regarding the availability and lead times of components required to deliver finished goods to customer;
  • Work directly with purchasing and shipping/receiving for proper delivery of projects and receipt of vendor supplies;
  • Utilize Project Management tools including but not limited to the Company ERP (Syteline) to track the progress and movement of the project through the various stages of completion.
  • Prepare labour resource plans and make suggestions accordingly
  • Manage regular and ongoing communication with customer regarding the scope and status of the Project.
  • Identify any challenges or potential blockers to achieving project milestones and goals and implement solutions accordingly

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required
  • 5-7 years' experience in project management in managing machinery or custom automation projects;
  • PMP designation is preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully communicate, cooperate and engage with internal and external team members, vendors and clients;

  • Keen attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;

  • Sound analytical, proactive, strategic thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills;

  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and professional demeanor;

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently to deliver customer project objectives, on track, on time and within budget;

  • Experience in packaging or automation industry an asset.
