EORN is an organization whose objectives are to improve Broadband Services (both mobile and fixed) within Eastern Ontario. We have successfully delivered a $175 million dollar project and have confirmed funding to start up our next project. We do not own or operate networks, but partner with telecommunication companies and governments to deliver broadband solutions. The Project Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and work with the leadership team to coordinate the project management, tracking, reporting and risk management activities of the organization.

The EORN team is a multi-disciplinary group that coordinates with municipalities, carriers and other members of the telecom industry, consultants and the federal and provincial governments in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. The Project Manager will support the team(s) in ensuring that reports and deliverables are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

The Project Manager will work primarily with the CEO and the leadership team (Director of Technology; Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Director of Communications), to ensure that processes and systems are developed to meet the reporting and audit requirements for the organization.

 

JOB DUTIES:             

  • Supports the technical and financial claims development process in conjunction with the technical and finance teams.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance and tracking of the overall project deliverables.
  • Responsible for the coordination of stakeholder feedback on risk assessment, risk tracking and reporting of project risks to the CEO and the EORN board of directors.
  • Coordination and reporting of meetings including agendas, action items, and coordination of information sharing across teams.
  • Development of templates for reporting; drafts content for and coordinates preparation of reports based on contract reporting requirements with government and private sector partners.
  • Provide process development and support for various teams using process management tools and reporting.
  • Coordination with private sector project management counterparts working on delivery of Cell Gap Project.
  • Support the CEO and leadership team in preparing for external compliance audits.
  • Support for document management activities within EORN.
  • Tracking and reporting of contract conditions and reporting.
  • Reviews project contracts in depth to understand project requirements and deliverables, ensuring that all project deliverables are being tracked accordingly.
  • Assist in the development of EORN's objectives to improve broadband across the region.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University or college degree in related discipline
  • Project Management Professional Certificate or other training in project management
  • Experience in applying project management methodologies, systems, techniques, industry standards and best practices
  • Advanced knowledge in computer programs including Microsoft 365, Zoom, etc.
  • Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated success in contributing to a team orientated environment
  • Strong development and leadership skills

CONFLICT OF INTEREST PROVISION

Due to the nature and requirements of the independent claim review and advocacy process, EORN expects that the Project Manager that works for EORN during the implementation phase of the cell project will not be otherwise employed or under contract to any of the bidding or selected private sector proponents.

RATE OF PAY:            $110,000 - $130,000 per annum
