Role Summary:

The Business Analysis Unit is accountable for working with our various Federal customers to understand their business and reporting requirements. In this role you will be responsible for effectively facilitating meetings with clients to gather and document requirements. Working closely with our IT team, you will coordinate and quality assure our system upgrades, maintain security, manage the quality control aspects of client service levels and provide support to our clients our use our systems.

As a Business Analyst your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing relationships with the business areas to develop knowledge of their needs;
  • Creating and maintaining service levels which would include: maintenance items, new development, change management, system access security requests, etc.;
  • Facilitating the quality assurance of IT service request;
  • Lead project teams to develop and implement application changes;
  • Provide front line support and issue resolution for internal and external users;
  • Co-ordinate cross functional teams to resolve complex problems;
  • Building and maintaining working relationships with both the Operational and IT areas, etc.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers.

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

Education: Post-secondary education in Business/Commerce or computer technology, or equivalent work experience

Work Experience: 1-3 years experience in a business environment as a business analyst or similar role where data collection and facilitation were requirements of the position. Knowledge of Pharmacy claims adjudication would be considered an asset

Other Qualifications: Experience in technical writing (RUP or similar process), and knowledge of Discoverer, Oracle reports, SQL Plus will be considered assets.

Computer Skills: knowledge of Discoverer, Oracle reports, SQL Plus will be considered assets.

Language Skills: Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

You also demonstrate the following Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge: Basic project management principles, both technical and business aptitude, knowledge of business process modelling and strong customer relationship skills;
  • Analytical Thinking / Problem Solving: Strong technical aptitudes, ability to analyze, make decisions, troubleshoot, attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Execution/Organizational Skills: Well organized and able to contribute to creative and sound solutions in a diverse and fast-paced environment and the ability to multi-task;
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in business documentation.
  • Customer Orientation: strong customer focus; ability to build enduring relationships with business clients;
  • Team Work: Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to work in a group or independently.
