Finance Systems Analyst

Red Deer Polytechnic invites you to join our Finance team as the Finance Business Analyst. You will have the ability to work on-campus as well as remotely. This position will work under the direction of the Manager, Procure to Pay and Business Operations. 

The Finance Systems Analyst will analyze business problems of varying complexity and develop system solutions, processes, and methodologies to respond to those requirements. This role focuses on modernization and digitization of processes driven by Finance to allow the department to serve its clients and stakeholders more effectively and efficiently. The Finance Systems Analyst works closely with Information Technology Services, software providers and Finance staff on the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of systems. This position also plays a critical role in providing data and reports required for legislative compliance and institutional governance.

• Use systems and business process knowledge to provide solutions for problems or to enhance Finance processes and to optimize functionality of Finance-related systems and applications
• Works with cross-functional project teams to provide Finance system expertise and knowledge, manages and coordinates projects within the department of Finance and executes creative solutions in conjunction primarily with ITS and other key stakeholders
• Designs, maintains and implements advanced financial data reports and analytics to support continuous improvement, strategic planning and data-informed decision making
• Documents processes, develops and delivers training to end users, provides ongoing support to the users, primarily in the department of Finance

This position will remain open until filled; however the first review of applications will begin on January 23, 2023.

This position has the ability to work hybrid or remote.  

Qualifications:

• Three (3) or more years of experience with process development, systems implementation and process documentation
• Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce or computer science
• Related certification, such as Business Analyst or Project Management
• Knowledge of accounting standards and accounting treatment, preferably in a non-profit environment
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with strong relationship-building skills
