Flynn Group of Companies is currently recruiting a Service Estimator with a strong Sales & Customer Services experience to fill a vacancy at the Edmonton branch. The position of “Service Estimator” is a skilled role, in which the Service Estimator works out how much it is going to cost to supply products and services in order to complete the repairs needed. This position works closely with the service department in order to keep up to date with all ongoing change to jobs in the field. Due to the fact that this is a service job you will be required to respond to multiple requests and prioritize accordingly.

The position of Project Manager is a skilled role, in which the Project Manager provides the overall on-site administrative and technical management for multiple projects, while ensuring the total constructive efforts are in accordance with the plans and specifications and are communicated to all parties involved.
The position will take place in a fast paced environment, with many different tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review all aspects of a new order including work order, estimate, pre-plan information etc
  • Review incoming contracts
  • Review contracts with Management
  • Actively Participate in Handover meetings from sales/estimating to operations
  • Establish and continually update job schedule, site requirements, etc. with general contractor and Manager
  • Communicate to Field Operations and Purchasing Manager
  • Advise Manager of project costs
  • Co-ordinate the orderly flow of work to meet site schedules
  • Attend and participate actively in weekly project status meetings
  • Communicate all aspects of job status i.e. extras, schedule delays etc. with client
  • Negotiate extras for all applicable revisions and prepare necessary documentation (internal and external)
  • Co-ordinate issuance of all contracts or purchase orders to subs
  • Sub-out installation, when deemed necessary, in conjunction with Manager.
  • Co-ordinate the investigation and resolution of disputes, defects, and back charges
  • Follow-up with on-site problems with Area Supervisors and Field Operations Manager
  • Attend jobsite meetings including final inspections, where possible or necessary
  • Investigate contractual and legal dispute; obtain legal advice as required
  • Monitor and approve subcontract invoices
  • Approve close out of projects and ensure all invoices have been issued
  • Identify and rectify errors
  • Obtain monthly man hour forecast for projects and assist with establishing man power requirements
  • Obtain percentage complete on each project for month end billing and reporting

Skills / Knowledge:

  • 2+ years’ experience within a Project Manager Role or 5+ years’ experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry
  • Education in project management / building sciences or a related educational field
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Proficiency in MS office package
  • Experience in Bluebeam considered an asset
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
