The
Industrial Project Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership on key business projects. Key areas of responsibility will be project management for large scale construction projects, infrastructure projects, and revenue opportunities. The Industrial Project Manager will lead projects from development to completion by working closely with: Field Sales and Operations, and National Operations Coordinators. The Industrial Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed to the customer's satisfaction, while maintaining profitability. This will all be done while leveraging technology, and optimizing customer service. The position will also be required to harvest service sales opportunities and assist the sales team in quoting new work.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work with regional managers to develop processes and procedures that leverage line of business-related resources and infrastructure to increase overall customer service, efficiency and profitability for the company.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to: customers, vendors, engineering services, dispatchers, operations managers, sales account managers, and the regional leadership team.
- Prepare project plans to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to effectively develop and manage the line of business.
- Assist in determining, and developing goals, strategies and key initiatives for the projects.
- Assist in determining the reporting metrics and manage the reporting process ensuring targets are consistently achieved. Including tracking and determining the profitability of projects and reporting on variances from plan.
- Lead, mentor, coach and develop direct and indirect employees, by providing clear direction, guidance and support, in coordination with the overall strategy and objectives.
- Work with regional management to direct and manage service providers and/or consultant relationships and contracts. Negotiate contract terms, including costs and service standards, and ensure they are achieved and enforced.
- Ensure appropriate resources and tools are available to support the business operations.
- Consult with external sources, colleagues and functional area experts to determine best practices and apply them in cost effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a University Degree or professional certification, or equivalent courses.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant, related experience.
- Experience in a managerial role would be an asset.
- Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proven time management skills, multi-tasking and the ability to successfully handle multiple projects with constantly changing priorities.
- Strong team player who is comfortable taking the lead and collaborating with a variety of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strategic thinker who understands the long term and short term implications and is able to put plans into action and successfully achieve goals and targets.
- Exemplary analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to determine the root cause and prevent future occurrences.
- Ability to manage critical situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluency in French, both written and verbal, is an asset.
